A warm welcome to my website. Having completed a career in the Royal Air Force, I decided to take up painting and framing full time with a particular emphasis on aviation, maritime and landscape subjects.
Although I am self taught, I would rather say that I have been taught by those that I admire; most of my work is oils on canvas. I have been associated with the Guild of Aviation Artists for over 35 years and I am honoured to have served as Chairman from 2009 – 2016. In 2018, I was afforded the ultimate accolade of being elected a Vice-President of the Guild which was, in effect, a ‘lifetime achievement’ award. I eventually left the Guild in 2026 in order to concentrate on my other passion of painting the sea.
Art was a major factor in my being proposed for admission to the Freedom of the City of London in November 2015. It was another huge honour that in June 2016, I was admitted to the Freedom and subsequently the Livery of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers which is one of the oldest London Livery Companies. I am now looking forward to the next exciting chapter in my life as a Liveryman, although it will leave little time for my other hobbies of woodturning or the Yamaha Clavinova, a digital piano!
